This series explores the fragile relationship between humanity, mortality, and the unstoppable flow of time. Through a surrealist lens, the imagery captures an elderly artisan in a desperate, intimate struggle to arrest the passage of time. The pocket watch, a traditional symbol of structure and permanence, dissolves into liquid gold—suggesting that time is both our most precious currency and an element entirely beyond our control. Utilizing a dramatic chiaroscuro style, the golden decay reflects the beauty and tragedy of aging. The melting metal merges the craftsman with his creation, blurring the line between the controller and the controlled. Ultimately, the work serves as a memento mori for the modern age, questioning whether our obsession with measuring life prevents us from truly experiencing it. It is a visual study of inevitability, capturing the precise moment where resistance gives way to acceptance.
